#45 - 1-1/8'' Button Cutter & Dies - Heavy is quality manufactured by C.S. Osborne & Co. in the US. This 3-piece die set includes a heat-treated cutter with sharp edges engineered to accurately cut discs out of your fabric to cover buttons and a 2-piece die CNC precision-machined from high-grade steel, then nickel-plated to merry the fabric disc, button shell and button bottom together to create a professional custom button to match the fabric being used. Included with the button die set is a wood dowel to push the fabric disc cutout into the top button shell portion of the die set and "how to use" instructions.
This heavy die is meant for thick fabrics. Always buy a die set that matches the fabric you want to make buttons from. Trying to use this heavy die to make buttons with medium weight or lightweight fabrics will result in poor-quality buttons. If you are using a variety of fabric thicknesses, you will need more than one set of dies. As a guide, the heavy button dies will set quality constructed buttons with fabric thicknesses from .71mm to .1.05 mm. If you are not sure on which die to purchase, send us a sample of your fabric and we will let you know if you are in need of a regular or heavyweight die set.
The button dies work in conjunction with C.S. Osborne's W-1 Hand Press Machine witch is sold separately and can be found by scrolling down on this page to "Related Items". Dies are available for the W-1 Press Machine to set snaps, grommets', vent grommets, hole punches, covered upholstery buttons and can be used as a lightweight press.
