70D x 210D Ripstop Nylon - Black is a woven fabric made of 100% nylon with a Polyurethane Coating. Ripstop is manufactured with a special reinforcing technique that makes it resistant to tearing and ripping.

Backing Content: 100% Polyurethane

Cautions: Fades with prolonged U.V. exposure. Not dimensionally stable with temperature change.

Coating: Product has a Polyurethane Coating

Construction: 70 x 120 Denier

Description: Nylon Taffeta, P.U. Coated, Piece Dyed

Thread Count: 120 x 90 Threads per square inch

Thickness: 0.12 mm.

Weight: 2.40 ounces per square yard. 3.60 Ounces per Linear Yard

Width: 60"

Sold per running yard.

Q: I am looking for a very lightweight ripstop, the kind that is used for parachutes. What does 70D x 210D mean. I understand the D means Denier. I thought I should be looking for 40 Denier or lower. Can you please help me?

A: Hi Cathy

You are correct "D" means denier. This is the lightest Ripstop that is available us and do not know of a vender who can supply 40D Ripstop.
