A heavy duty, water-resistant finish for tents, tarpaulins and covers manufactured with canvas. Canvak canvas preservative is a clear wax-based compound that can be used for re-waterproofing heavy duty textiles. Canvak is NOT recommended for synthetic fabrics including Sunbrella fabrics.

Cautions: Keep away from heat, sparks, open flame, and other sources of ignition.

Coverage: One gallon covers 100 Square Feet of Canvas. Actual coverage will vary with density of application.

Flammability: Flammable

Just clean and dry fabric surface to be treated, then brush on Canvak

Q: I would like to use a product to seal the seams and overall canvas of a boat awning. Is this the correct product or would you suggest another? Thank you

A: Hi Richard

This product is used for sealing cotton canvas fabric. More than likely your fabric on your is Sunbrella. If this is the case 303 Fabric Guard is the one to use which comes in 3 sizes.

Q: What is the approximate coverage per gallon for 10 oz untreated cotton canvas, and do you recommend preshrinking new canvas before applying this product?

Canvak is used to retreat previously factory treated cotton canvas fabric and should not be used on new untreated canvas.

Coverage is about 100 sq/ft per gallon.
