Scotchlite™ 8710 Silver Transfer Film - Iron On Tape
Scotchlite™ 8710 Silver Transfer Film - Iron On Tape is composed of wide-angle, exposed retro-reflective lenses bonded to a heat-activated polyurethane adhesive. Iron on film for reflective protection on garments and other fabric products. Suitable for safety vests, harnesses, uniforms, jackets, outerwear, armbands, headwear, hardware, accessories, rainwear, backpacks, strap belts, cut-out letters and numbers, patches, and crests.
Abrasion: 5000 Cycles.
Application:
For best results, apply to light and medium-weight fabrics. Application on fabrics is best achieved over a flat surface where uniform heat and pressure can be applied. Avoid applying over seams.
Cutting:
Die-cutting is recommended, although the film can also be hand-cut, guillotined, kiss-cut, or plotter cut. Ensure uniform day color and nighttime reflectivity when using multiple pieces.
Care:
Wash: Machine wash warm, 40°C (105°F).
Bleach: Only non-chlorine bleach when needed.
Dry: Tumble dry low.
Iron: Use cool iron, 110°C (230°F).
Dry-Clean: Normal cycle. Repeated dry cleaning may cause slight stiffening but will not affect reflectivity.
Cautions:
Nylons and fabrics with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish are difficult to adhere to and are not recommended.
Handling Precautions for Hot and Humid Environments:
Scotchlite™ silver transfer film contains an aluminum layer. Blemishing of this layer can occur if the paper carrier is removed and the product is exposed to hot and humid conditions (>80°F and >70% relative humidity) for weeks. These blemishes do not affect performance.
Features:
Very good stretch properties.
High attention value when visibility is poor, especially at night.
The fluorescent color is conspicuous under daytime conditions.
High reflectivity at wide entrance angles.
Effective performance life for the garment's normal use.
Cold Crack: -20°C
Description:
A highly reflective material with wide-angle reflectivity enhances night visibility. A removable plastic liner protects the heat-activated adhesive. Suitable for light to medium-weight fabrics with good stretch properties. Certification EN471. High brightness at wide angles. Dry cleanable. Durable. Screen printable. Retains reflectivity and day color throughout the garment's normal use life.
Application to Fabrics:
Remove the plastic liner, exposing the adhesive (do not remove the paper carrier).
Place on the substrate with adhesive side down, apply heat (325-375°F, 163-190°C) and pressure, with a dwell time of 10-20 seconds.
Allow cooling before removing the paper carrier.
For best results, apply to light and medium-weight fabrics on a flat surface with uniform heat and pressure. Avoid seams.
