YKK SNAD™ 25 mm Stud Fastener - White

YKK Snad® 25 mm White Snap Stud Adhesive Fastener is specially designed for marine applications. Unlike traditional metal screw studs, this product does not require any hole to be drilled into the substrate thus avoiding the many problems associated with their use. The SNAD stud will not snag clothing or deteriorate from exposure to sunlight, sand or dirt. Plus, their unique dome shape enables them to be walked on without causing discomfort.

What's amazing about the SNAD fastener component is how they are secured to boat surfaces. On the underside of each is a pad of 3M™, VHB™ adhesive that enables the SNAD snap body to adhere to substrates without having to drill a hole. For more than 20 years the VHB product line has proven to be tough in marine, automotive, medical, aerospace, and architectural applications. YKK has adapted it to use with its patented design to bring flexibility and convenience to the professional marine fabricator. All one must do is simply clean the surface to which the SNAD fastener component is to be applied, peel off the protective paper backing, position and firmly hold the snap in place and release. No tool, no cracks, no splinters, but best of all - No Hole!

The dome-shaped SNAD fastener components are made from an automotive grade resin chosen specifically for its exceptional resistance to deterioration under harsh conditions including exposure to UV rays and wide temperature ranges. The resin's pigment will blend in with most common marine decks.

The snap functionality is incorporated into a 25 mm diameter low-profile dome. Designed to be compatible with military specification snaps, the SNAD snaps will function equally well with all major brands of marine hardware. Plus, it's snap-on/off consistency enables it to be more reliable over time than conventional metal snaps with metal rings.

Application: Adhesive-backed products should be applied above 68 F (20 C) to surfaces that are smooth, dry and free of oils or mold release agents. It is recommended to wipe the substrate with an isopropanol/water solution (50/50 or with heptane or methylethylketone) and allow to dry. With firm, pressure apply the fastener allowing an appropriate dwell time at room temperature before loading or disengaging. Do not touch adhesive after liner is removed.
