Q:Which gauge of Extruded Window Plastic would you suggest for an unheated 3 season sunroom storm windows? The windows are 5'x4'. Thinking about adding additional mullions for extra support. My location is the Niagara region.

Q:When ordered will it come rolled or folded? The planned use is for an Argo Canopy cab with windows. Would you recommend this stuff or something different?

A: Hi Ami
This or any window plastic will be shipped, rolled on a cardboard tube. Yes you can use this gauge plastic but I would recommend upgrading to 30 gauge.

Q:i am not sure how to calculate how much vinyl i will need to put in my porch,,, my porch is 20 feet long by 6 feet by 8 feet high,?,, help please

A: Hi Jane
You would require 12 yards. I calculated the panels being installed vertically and you would need to sew them together. The yardage includes 1/2" seam allowence but does not account for any extra top & bottom. Hope this helped.

Q:I would like to replace our Bimini windows on our 30 feet sailboat.
Which material is the best for it?
Asked by: Anna Krizan
- 3/17/2022
A: Hi Anna
If it was my boat, I would use 30 gauge Extruded Window Vinyl for 2 reasons. It's easy on the wallet and 2nd my windows are on and off constantly and the plastic can easily roll for storage without showing scratches as easily as expensive optically clear window vinyl. Part# FAB20-1030 .
40 gauge Strataglass would be my second choice. It lasts a long time and is the clearest window vinyl we sell. 30 gauge is a very clear plastic when looking through it at 90 degrees but starts to distort and objects look wavey looking through it an angle. Strataglass has clarity at all angles but does not take abuse and scratches easily. Part# FAB20-2040.
Here is some advice but you are on your own pivking.

Q:I need my cover to be 10ft x 13ft. Is there a suggestion how I can seam it to be waterproof?

A: You would need to overlap the vinyl sheets by about ½" to 1". Then use a hot air welder with a speed tip to apply heat evenly across the overlap. Press down using a silicone roller or welding tool as you move. Then, let it cool undisturbed.

Q:Hello, I’m replacing the plastic in our sunroom and wondering if the 20 gauge would be too thick to go in the channels of the frame. Would you be able to send a sample to try?

Q:Do you sell this product other than 54" wide? Looking to reduce the waste for making storm windows 40" X 63". So 44" or 66" width would be ideal. Thanks.
Asked by: Valley Guy

A: This only comes in a 54" width, and is sold by the yard

Q:How would you attach binding to the vinyl pieces, to be used on a gazebo? I have sewn bindings on mesh before, but would sewing it not tear the clear vinyl? Alternatively, could you use magnetic strips or tape to adhere to the gazebo frame?
Asked by: Cathy L Logan
- 12/8/2025
A: You can attach the binding to vinyl by sewing. The vinyl is thick enough, and with a longer stitch length it will not tear the vinyl.
