Q:what is the difference between this clear vinyl and the Raglite 30 gauge.
Can I use this one for the enclosure on a boat instead of Raglite? (the enclosure is not as often exposed as the dodger is).

A: Regalite sheets measure 54" x 110" and are made of layers of vinyl that are welded together with heat and pressure and then polished. While these sheets have dimensional stability and excellent clarity they must be handled with great care as they scratch easily. The 30 gauge clear vinyl is an extruded vinyl that is flexible and has excellent clarity. It is easier to work with than the Regalite and most certainly can be used for boat enclosures.

Q:How much for a roll of the 30 gauge clear vinyl?
Asked by: Saroo
- 11/16/2020
A: Hi Saroo
There is 40 yards on a roll but the first and last yard are marred. 38 yards x $20.10 = $763.80 for a 38 yard roll plus tax. Shipping is free because it is over $500.

Q:I want to replace some tent "windows." Would this work for that? I need to be able to stuff it in a bag and still have it not be super creased.
Asked by: Danielle
- 11/4/2020
A: Hi Danielle
Most people use 20 gauge plastic for tents because it is thinner and will fold easier but it will crease when folded. We do not have a window plastic that will not crease when folded.

Q:How long will the vinyl off-gas for? The plastic-y smell is noticeable in our patio and gives my wife a headache, I wondering if that will last or be temporary. Thank you
Asked by: Jacobus

A: Hi Jacobus
The order will dissipate in a short period of time. As an example, the odor of a new car disappears after a few weeks which will be the same for the plastic you purchased.

Q:I want to make a Covid barrier for our company pickup trucks. What’s the best gauge to use? Thanks
Asked by: Su
- 2/8/2021
A: Hi su
30 gauge is the way to go . It is 50% thicker than 20 gauge and will hold it's shape better. That said, if you have a proper frame to hold the plastic in place using 20 gauge will do the same job as 30 gauge for a barrier and will save you a few bucks.

Q:Would this be considered Marine Grade Vinyl, and what is the shrinkage that can be expected? I would like to use it for a sailboat enclosure.
Asked by: Vicki
- 5/11/2023
A: Yes, all our window plastics are marine grade including this 30 gauge clear plastic, Shrinkage is less than 1% not including temperage changes. On hot sunny days the plastic will expand and cold days the plastic will contract, From a hot sunny day to a cold day expansion to contraction is about 3% but the plastic will go back to it's original shape at room temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

Asked by: Diana
- 6/1/2023
A: Hi Diana
It all depends on where it is shipping to and how heavy or the size of the item. Best way to get an exact quote is putting the item into your cart, then proceed to checkout. Here you can enter your province and postal code to get your shipping amount. If you are ok with the shipping amount you can continue check-out and enter payment information and address.

Q:I want to replace some clear vinyl sections in my sailboat's dodger that were damaged by hail last summer. The centre section can roll up so I'm thinking the 20 gauge stuff might be preferred, and 30 gauge for the rest? How do you sell this stuff? By the yard? I dont need much. Thanks!
Asked by: Andrew Bell
- 3/21/2026
A: This is sold by the yard, with a 54" width, so you can buy as small as 1 yard if needed.
